Campbell Returns to Kansas Action

WICHITA, KS - The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team got another chance to race in front of the hometown crowd this weekend with two Kansas events scheduled with the American Sprint Car Series.

First up Humboldt Speedway Friday evening. Campbell was second quick in qualifying action, and finished second in his heat race, setting him up for a 12th place starting position for the main event. Trying to make something happen around the top, Campbell initially fell back to 14th spot while everyone focused on the low line, but patience and persistence paid off late in the race, when he was able to stage an aggressive comeback, passing eight cars to finish 6th.

Saturday the JCM team returned to 81 Speedway, the first event of the year for the #10c team in front of the home crowd. Campbell was fastest in his qualifying group, and started 4th in heat race action, finishing 2nd. This speed and consistency set Campbell up to start 5th in the main event.

Jason Martin, Matt Covington and Brandon Anderson set a blistering pace as the feature took off, with Campbell and Kyler Johnson close behind. Campbell had just passed for 4th place when he tangled with a lap car mid race, ending his feature run.

“I hate to go out like this in front of our fans and sponsors,” said Campbell. “Every time we run here at 81 we want to deliver an exciting show, and tonight we just didn’t have the luck we needed. I’m looking forward to coming back in July and getting the job done.”

Jeremy Campbell 2021 ASCS Sooner Region Champion

WICHITA, KS - Jeremy Campbell officially clinched the 2021 ASCS Sooner Region Championship after signing into the draw at the season's final event this past weekend at Caney Speedway. It's a season that's been driven by consistent finishes at the tracks that prove most difficult for the team, the little tracks sprinkled across Southern Kansas and North East Oklahoma, Creek Country, Caney Valley, Tulsa Speedway and the likes.

"I love a big track with a wall and a cushion, it's the type of track I'm used to and the type I've had success on for years. On these little tracks the cars feel more like go-karts, and you are just throwing them in there. It's been something I've had to get use to, but getting out of my comfort zone was what I wanted when we made the move to ASCS.

Finishing the season strong, Campbell started 6th in his heat race and finished 4th. Lining up 5th in the main event, Campbell came home 4th.

With 29 events during the 2021 season for JCM, the team recorded 22 top tens, 8 top fives, and won at Monett Speedway. Campbell adds the ASCS Sooner Champion title to his four NCRA Championships, and eight 81 Speedway Championships. Campbell began his sprint car career more than 20 years ago, and was the 2000 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Rookie of the Year.

10/13/2021 – Campbell battles from 12th to 5th at Tri-State Speedway

The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team visited Tri-State Speedway in Pacola,Oklahoma Saturday for ASCS Sooner Region vs Mid South Region action.

Coming off on a destroyed car at the Jesse Hockett Memorial, the team had the backup car ready to roll. Campbell started 7th in his heat race, and moved up to 5th, putting him in the middle of the racing action for the night’s main event.

Starting 12th, Campbell was able to stay clean during two wild starts, and began picking off cars one by one. When the checkered flag fell Campbell had made it up to 5th place, with Roger Crockett, Garet Williamson, Brandon Anderson and Kyle Clark making up the rest of the Top Five.

Up next for the team is a return to Creek County Speedway the two day ASCS Sooner Region Fall Fling.

9/23/2021 – Campbell grows points lead in ASCS Sooner region after up and down weekend at Jesse Hockett  Memorial

The Lucas Oil American Sprint Cars Series, along with ASCS Sooner and Warrior regions descended on Wheatland, Missouri this past weekend for the Jesse Hockett Memorial. With more than 65 sprint cars on hand, the competition was intense throughout the weekend.

Campbell started the weekend strong, finishing 2nd in his heat, and going from 4th to 1st in his qualifier. This put him on the front row for the main event, where Campbell led the first part of the main event, before falling back to 5th.

Friday’s heat race found Campbell moving from 5th to 4th place, followed by a 3rd place finish in the qualifier. Campbell had to race his way into the main event, but won the B Feature, securing a 17th place starting spot.

Driving up to 14th in the main, the combined Thursday and Friday night’s points were enough to lock the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team into Saturday’s main event. Starting 7th, Campbell and another car tangled and Campbell spun 7 laps into the feature. Going to the back of the pack, Campbell tried to force the high line around the top on the next lap but the car bicycled and went hard into the outside wall, ending the night for the team.

“We never want to end with a junk car, but I knew if I wanted to make up some positions quickly I was going to have to take some chances, and I just caught the rut wrong” Campbell said. “We were feeling really good about three nights in a row in the main event against this competition, and we will rebuild and be back out for the next race.”

The consistent speed over the weekend was enough to stretch Campbell’s ASCS Sooner points region lead from 4 points to 120. Up next for the team is a visit to Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma October 9th.

08/04/2021- July heats up for JCM, looking forward to August.

WICHITA, KS – July started off with a bang for the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team, as they traveled to Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri with the ASCS Sooner region. Campbell was consistently fast all evening, winning his heat race, and lining up third in A Feature action. Campbell jumped to an early lead, and led the field through the checkered flag.

This past week JCM joined with ASCS National Tour for the final three nights of Speedweeks. Campbell finished 6th at 81 Speedway Thursday night, came from 17th to 7th at Tulsa Speedway on Friday, and finished 7th at Outlaw Speedway on Saturday night.

“These little tracks like Creek and Tulsa Speedway are definitely not my strong point,” said Campbell. “But we are getting better on them every time out and it’s making me better as a driver. When we decided to travel more and catch more ASCS races I wanted to challenge myself against the best 360 guys out there, and push myself to grow, and that’s what these little tracks do. I love a big banked track, but you have to be able to adapt to whatever the night throws at you.”

The consistent weekend was enough to put Campbell back into the points lead with the ASCS Sooner region.

Up next for JCM is a two day ASCS swing to Caney Speedway and Creek County Speedway.

Saturday night the ASCS Sooner region returned to 81 Speedway, Campbell’s home track. With 17 sprint cars on hand, again the stands were packed to capacity with eager sprint car fans. Campbell dominated his heat race, leading by almost a straightaway at the checkered flag.

Campbell victorious in ASCS Action!

Wichita, KS – With the complete renovations of 81 Speedway over the winter, the ASCS Sooner region made their first visit back to the track Saturday, July 11th. After a slow start in heat race action, the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team came out with something to prove in the main event.

Starting 11th for the 25 lap feature, Campbell moved fast to reach the top five, utilizing a high line others struggled to make work. A late race caution set up a perfect battle, high vs low, with Campbell coming out on top, and stretching his lead to more than 2 seconds before the checkered flag fell.

“It felt great to be back at speed and competitive again,” said Campbell. “All of our sponsors and fans have stuck by our side through these rainouts, canceled races, and struggles, and I just can’t thank them enough for their support.”

A Friday rainout sent the ASCS Sooner region back to Creek County Speedway on Sunday, July 13th. During the A feature, Campbell was collected mid race by another drivers spin, but was able to restart and work his way back to 8th place. Two strong runs in a row moved Campbell into the lead for Sooner region points, with the next event scheduled for August 22nd in Monett, Missouri.

Up next for Jeremy Campbell Motorsports is a return to the historical Hutchinson Fairgrounds for the 64th Annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals July 17th and 18th.
