Campbell heats up July with ASCS action on tap

The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team returned to Caney Valley Speedway Saturday, kicking off a 3 event swing with the American Sprint Car Series Summer Super Series!

After winning Heat 3, Campbell lined up in third position for A Feature action. After a few great restarts Campbell unfortunately got shuffled to the back in a race plagued by reds and cautions.

“As great as the car felt in the heat race, we went totally the other way in the main event. I just missed the set up and couldn’t make the top work the way we had hoped. I feel a little bit better that almost everyone on the track seemed to have also missed the set up, but it made for a bunch of very strong, very ill-handling sprint cars on a tiny track.”

The team will regroup and head Northwest this weekend as they join the ASCS National Tour July 1st at WaKeeney Speedway, and then the 360’s return to the famed Belleville Highbanks on July 3rd.

Campbell Returns to Kansas Action

WICHITA, KS - The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team got another chance to race in front of the hometown crowd this weekend with two Kansas events scheduled with the American Sprint Car Series.

First up Humboldt Speedway Friday evening. Campbell was second quick in qualifying action, and finished second in his heat race, setting him up for a 12th place starting position for the main event. Trying to make something happen around the top, Campbell initially fell back to 14th spot while everyone focused on the low line, but patience and persistence paid off late in the race, when he was able to stage an aggressive comeback, passing eight cars to finish 6th.

Saturday the JCM team returned to 81 Speedway, the first event of the year for the #10c team in front of the home crowd. Campbell was fastest in his qualifying group, and started 4th in heat race action, finishing 2nd. This speed and consistency set Campbell up to start 5th in the main event.

Jason Martin, Matt Covington and Brandon Anderson set a blistering pace as the feature took off, with Campbell and Kyler Johnson close behind. Campbell had just passed for 4th place when he tangled with a lap car mid race, ending his feature run.

“I hate to go out like this in front of our fans and sponsors,” said Campbell. “Every time we run here at 81 we want to deliver an exciting show, and tonight we just didn’t have the luck we needed. I’m looking forward to coming back in July and getting the job done.”

JCM scores two Top Ten’s with ASCS National Tour weekend

5-22-2023 - The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports Team made their season debut with the ASCS National Tour this weekend as the series made a two day stop at Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma. With persistent rain following the series, teams were eager to get the event in, so the Friday / Saturday schedule was pushed to a Saturday / Sunday plan.

Campbell finished 3rd in his heat, setting up a 6th place start for Saturday’s 26 car main event. The feature went green to checkered, with 25 laps of blistering fast action, and Campbell crossed the finish line 7th.

Sunday’s action saw a 2nd place heat race finish, combined with 4th place in group qualifying, placing Campbell 10th to start the A. Playing defense after a couple on track bobbles by other drivers threatened to collect the #10c, Campbell found himself all the way back to 16th with ground to make up. As tire concerns began to come into play, Campbell was able to conserve rubber while still steadily picking off positions, running out of laps in 8th spot.

“The car was fast all weekend,” said Campbell. “I feel like I could put it wherever I wanted on the track, we just had a hard time making up ground. These guys are all so fast, and we are all so evenly matched, that when you get shuffled to the back or something like that, it’s hard to make up for that mistake. Two Top Tens for the weekend when you look at the quality of cars in those first 10 spots is pretty good.”

Next up for the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team is a June 3rd event with the Ojar Peters team at Dodge City Speedway. Jeremy Campbell Motorsports is supported by Dan’s Cycle, Scott’s Well Service, Knoche Farms, Knoche Transport, Nelson Circles - TDN Farms, Mel Hambelton Ford Racing, Ivan and Tammy Etherton, Maxwell Ag Aviation, BEPC, Maxim Chassis, Hepfner Racing Products, Diversified Machine, Inc, Big Corner Creative, Advanced Performance Engineering, Cannady Body Shop, Hampel Oil, Penske Racing Shocks, Saldana Racing Products.

Campbell 2nd at 81 Speedway with URSS

5-15-2023

Jeremy Campbell and Ojar Peters teamed up for URSS action this past weekend at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas. Coming off a 4th place finish on their last outing, the duo were eager to improve, and the track provided an elbows-up, fast racing surface!

Starting 6th in heat race action, Campbell made some quick moves at the start, and was able to make it up to second place before running out of laps. The impressive run put him high points for the evening, although a tough redraw resulted in the #51 starting 6th for the main event.

On a roll again during the A Feature, Campbell battled his way up to 2nd position, on the hunt for leader Jake Martens. The two put on a slide job clinic the last ten laps of the main, much to the delight of the Wichita fans. After a late race caution and restart, Martens emerged victorious with Campbell coming home second.

“Ojar’s #51 car was great, and I really appreciate the excellent equipment and opportunities I have with this car every time out. I feel like the track gave us a chance to show how fast we are, and things just keep getting better every time out,” Campbell said.

Next up for the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team is a two day event at Longdale Speedway with the ASCS National Tour. Midwest Wingless Racing Association

5-8-2023

The Midwest Wingless Racing Association visited 81 Speedway Saturday, May 6th, and once again the JCM team removed the wings for a racing change up with the open motor series.

Slightly overpowered amongst the 410’s for heat race action, Campbell started 5th and finished 5th. Changes in the track worked to the team’s advantage as driver control became a big factor during feature time. Starting 9th, Campbell edged his way through the field to clinch a 4th spot finish and bring home the Hard Charger award.

“I really enjoy these wingless races,” said Campbell. “It’s a good chance to push myself and challenge my driving style a little.”

Up next for the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team is a May 13th URSS Sprints event at 81 Speedway with the Ojar Peters #51 team. 3 Event Weekend for JCM Team

4-25-2023

The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team returned to action for the 2023 race season with 3 events over the weekend, running with both the URSS 305 Series and the ASCS Sooner Region.

The weekend started off with Campbell once again teaming up with Ojar Peters in the familiar #51 in honor of Mike Peters for the first URSS / 81 Speedway event of the year. After winning his heat race, Campbell went from 5th to 3rd in the A Feature.

Friday was the first ASCS Sooner region event of the year for the #10c team, at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a new track for the team. Although passing proved difficult on the fast ½ mile, Campbell finished 14th.

Saturday the team traveled to another new track, visiting Elk City Motorsports Park, in Elk City, Oklahoma. Campbell finished 2nd in heat race action, and came home 3rd in the main event.

“We know track promoters out there are battling tough weather conditions, so it’s awesome to come out to a great track like Elk City for a first event and have awesome racing all evening.” Campbell said. “This weekend wasn’t as strong a start as we had hoped for, but I feel good about the way the car is running and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Up next for the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team is a May 6th USAC Wingless Sprints at 81 Speedway, followed by a return to URSS action May 13th. Jeremy Campbell Motorsports is supported by Dan’s Cycle, Scott’s Well Service, Knoche Farms, Knoche Transport, Nelson Circles - TDN Farms, Mel Hambelton Ford Racing, Ivan and Tammy Etherton, Maxwell Ag Aviation, BEPC, Maxim Chassis, Hepfner Racing Products, Diversified Machine, Inc, Big Corner Creative, Advanced Performance Engineering, Cannady Body Shop, Hampel Oil, Penske Racing Shocks, Saldana Racing Products.

10/10/2022 – Campbell doubles up at Dodge City Raceway Park, Steve King Memorial

Wichita, KS – The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team traveled West to Dodge City Raceway Park for the two day Steve King Memorial event this past Friday and Saturday. Also accompanying them was Ojar Peters with the #51 305 Sprint Car Team.

Friday night Campbell ran off with both heat races, winning in both the 305 event and the 360 class. In A-feature action, he again doubled up, with a pair of 3rd place finishes. These results were good enough to lock the teams into Saturday’s main events.

The 305 main saw a wild west worthy start, but Campbell was able to battle back to a 5th place finish. The luck eventually ran out during the 360 main event, as the front axle broke while Campbell was running 4th with 4 laps to go. Campbell went into the wall and end over end, bringing out the red and ending the run for the weekend.

“We had been running wide open basically the entire race” said Campbell. “I could feel something was beginning to change with the way the car was responding in the corners, but I was hoping we could make it to the finish. I’m disappointed. We never want to end the season with a wrecked car, and we had a strong weekend going, especially at an event like this that is so important to us.”

Campbell won the NCRA Championship in 2010 with Danny King and the e85 team, and has run different events for the team throughout the years.

Jeremy Campbell Motorsports returns to Lucas Oil Speedway for Jesse Hockett Memorial

9/19/2022 - The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team returned to Lucas Oil Speedway for the Jesse Hockett Memorial this past weekend. With more than 70 360 sprint cars on hand the event once again brought the best 360 racers across the country together for three days of racing action. The team struggled early, and spent Thursday and Friday chasing set-ups on an ever changing track surface. By Saturday night the team was able to rebound, coming from 14th to 5th in Campbell's B-Feature. "We were pretty far off base our first time on the track. We had so much ground to make up we decided to try a completely new set up to try to take advantage of the bottom but we just couldn't make it work. Finally Saturday we went back to the old school set up I've run for ages and it worked well for us. I'm trying to push myself to learn the newer ways of setting up the car for different conditions, but with this stout competition there's just no room for mistakes.

Up next is a September 24th appearance at Salina Highbanks with Ojar Peters and the #51 305 team, followed by the Steve King Memorial October 7th and 8th at Dodge City Raceway Park.

Katie CampbellRace Results
Campbell 6th at Caney with ASCS National Tour

9/12/2022 - After a multiple week hiatus from 360 racing, the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team was back in action Saturday, September 10th with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series.

Campbell won his heat race, setting him up with a 5th place starting spot for the feature event. The rain-shortened event was called mid-way through the A, with Campbell finishing 6th.

"We've struggled to get in a rhythm this year, with so many weather and tire shortage issues affecting track schedules." said Campbell. "We sat out of the ASCS Sooner region points because we wanted to focus on a few different events closer to our sponsors and fans that would have conflicted with points races. Then a lot of those events have been canceled or rescheduled and we've been left with more weeks out of the seat than anticipated."

"It's nice to come out and still have a strong finish with the national guys going into a huge weekend like Lucas Oil." said Campbell.

September 14th, 15th and 16th the team heads to Lucas Oil Speedway for the Jesse Hockett Memorial with the ASCS National Tour. September 24th Campbell will visit the Salina Highbanks with Ojar Peters and the #51 305 team.

Campbell strong in Midwest Wingless Racing Association debut!

6/27/2022 – The Midwest Wingless Racing Association made their 81 Speedway debut Saturday June 25th. With twenty cars on hand, the majority being 410’s, the Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team had their work cut out for them in Campbell’s first non-wing start of the year, and as one of the few 360’s in the field.

Starting 4th in the heat race, Campbell made it up to 2nd, before finishing 3rd. In the feature event Campbell lined up 8th with 25 laps to make it to the front.

Settling into a rhythm, Campbell began picking cars off one by one. Multiple late race cautions cost a few spots as Campbell was repeatedly sent back immediately after gaining a position. In the last 5 laps things got extremely exciting as tire wear came into play and it became a survival game.

Campbell’s patience and experience showed in the end as he clinched 3rd with just laps remaining in the event. “I’m really happy with how we did this weekend,” Campbell said. “A top-five would have been great, with me still getting the feel of non-wing, and us not knowing how we’d compare power wise to the bigger motors, but to bring home third is awesome. We know we’ve got a strong motor and a strong team and we showed it tonight!”

Next up for the team is a two-day ASCS National Tour weekend at WaKenney Speedway, in Wakeeney, Kansas.
